Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara

It isn't often that I devote an entire post to a single product, but when you're inspired, well...that's just what this product does for me. Allow me to have a fangirl moment here for a sec--I was able to get my hands on this mascara a full week before it was allowed to be sold in Sephora stores nationwide, because of my awesome sales associate. When she told me that Dior was coming out with an amazing mascara that would obviate the need for eyelash curlers, I slammed my hand on the table and said "SOLD!" without even a glimpse at the product.

Now, I have tiny, barely-there, blonde lashes. Over the past few months I've been trying a lash-lengthening product (more on that in a later post), but I still rely on my Shu Uemura eyelash curlers every single day. Now, when I use this mascara, I can go curler-free, which means it's one less step in my makeup routine. And I love the formula: not too dry, not too wet, not too stiff but not too "natural".

What I found interesting is the fact that the way you use the brush is, to me, totally counterintuitive. On the packaging it shows you that you are to angle the brush so that the scooped part is facing the ceiling, like a spoon. I always thought that curved brushes meant you aligned the curvy part of the brush with the natural curve of your eye--but this mascara explicitly informs you to hold the concave part vertical, like so:
