Splurge or Steal: The Pistachio Creams
If you haven't already guessed by now, I'm a definite fan of Laura Mercier's eau gourmand line, with special attention to the Creme de Pistache (Pistachio) scent. Ironically, it smells nothing like a pistachio, unless you count the barely-noticeable nutty undertone to what is otherwise dominated by sugar, butter, and vanilla. It's like when you're baking a cake from scratch, and you have just creamed the butter and sugar, and you add the dash of vanilla. So yummy.
Very recently Dove came out with a scent in their nutrium moisture body wash range called, "Purely Pampering Pistachio Cream with Magnolia". Apparently Dove shares Laura Mercier's fondness for long-winded product names. Nonetheless, if you are fan of the LM scent, you will love this one. Unfortunately I can only find this scent in the beauty bar and body wash at the moment - but you can be sure I scooped up multiples in case it gets discontinued quickly. It is, after all, not the type of scent that sounds good off the shelf. Until, that is, you smell it.

I will caveat the potential buyer who is an expert on the LM Creme de Pistache range - the Dove version doesn't smell quite as concentrated, if that makes sense. It's very light. It also doesn't lather up much at all, so it's a bit like washing your body with a lotion - but it's very moisturizing and I like that after I get out of the shower I can actually skip the moisturizing step on most non-fussy days.
