My Favorite Foundations

In keeping with my equal love for beauty products as fashion, I decided after discovering the most amazing foundation ever that I would do a spur-of-the-moment vlog showing you my all-time favorite foundations I have ever used and loved. Bear in mind that most of the foundations mentioned have been vetted--in the sense that I have purchased and re-purchased this foundations for something going on 3 years or longer (especially with the first two I mention). However their status as cult fave in my book is being seriously challenged by a new competitor. Read (and watch) all about it, below!

Diorskin Forever Foundation SPF 25

This foundation has been in my makeup bag for over 3 years. I love this foundation so much! It is long-wearing (ya hear that, brides?) but has a soft finish that is almost powdery. I've worn this foundation nearly every day since discovering it ages ago. It has a SPF of 25 and it tends to be a little heavier than the "light to medium" coverage it claims - I find you really have to build this on sheer or it can easily "look" like you're wearing foundation. But, if you buy this (especially if you have flaws or blemishes you are looking to cover up) you will not regret it. Best for normal/combination/oily skin as it tends to run on the matte side.  Yves Saint Laurent Teint Resist

Yet another in the beauty arsenal, though loved but not as much used, as I bought this probably during a summer when I was much darker than I usually am - so, sadly, it stays tucked away much more than it should, as it is a great foundation. I would say this is very very comparable to the Diorskin above, but would say it's just ever so lightly less long lasting, and a little bit more coverage, perhaps. It does have more of a powdery finish and it is easier to build, but for some reason on me it's just a little bit harder to blend than Diorskin Forever. That aside, it is a great, great foundation and one that I love love love! Purchase »

Jemma Kidd Light As Air Foundation

This is a fantastic, fantastic foundation. Especially for those who want a dewy glow (so especially great for dryer skin) but with a sheer, yet buildable finish. Absolutely amazing, and until recently, my all-time favorite. Sure, the packaging isn't pretty, and it can be hard to find (I got mine on Beauty.com), and there aren't many shades, but the feel of this foundation is amazing- almost like a moisturizer, but with medium coverage. Simply amazing and great for a dewy glow. As I tend to have combination skin, this sometimes wasn't ideal so I would set with a translucent powder on top and be right as rain! Purchase »

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream

This is a BB Cream for the masses. Since it comes in several different shades, you don't have to subscribe to the "one shade fits all mentality" (because, let's face it, it doesn't). As to whether it lives up to the BB Cream hype (of which I'm skeptical anyway), at the very least this is a lovely foundation for foundation-phobes. It's in-between a tinted moisturizer and a light liquid foundation, is the best way I can describe it. Perfect for those days when I don't want to mess with a foundation brush and the whole-shebang. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation

Dear sweet jeebus. This is amazing stuff. My most recent purchase, and quickly leap-frogged to the #1 spot, and straight into my makeup bag. What else can I say about this foundation? You'll have to hear me talk about it on my video. Amazeballs. Purchase »
