Friday ~ Frankie Diary ~ FBFF

{ i'm truly in love with my frankie 2011 diary by frankie magazine }

{ it's sold out everywhere so i had to pay $$ on ebay to get it in my hands }

{ it was so worth it }

Well ladies and gents...it's Friday! I'm about to go sit through 2.5 hours of a Neurology final examination that is sure to give me a swift kick in the pants, but I'm hoping I get through it with at least a passing grade. Neurology is not my strong point, to put it lightly. The past four weeks of this rotation have been equal parts frustrating and busy- usually with 12 hour days, leaving me little time to study, let alone work on outfits for the blog. But fashion week is almost here, and you know what that means.....NYC!!!

Have a great weekend, folks! I solemnly promise to take outfit photos this weekend, see the movie Country Strong, purchase a new vehicle (yay), and sleep in.

Fashion Beauty Friend Friday: Blogger Mechanics

  1. What technology do you use in blogging? Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi, various lenses, old rickety tripod, camera remote
  2. What computer and online technology do you use? WordPress, iMac 27", iPhoto for storage, Photoshop CS5 for editing
  3. What is your process for taking pictures? Normally I beg and plead for my boyfriend to take outfit shots--but when he's unavailable, I'll set up a tripod somewhere and take them with my remote. I'm too shy to do it in public with the tripod yet because I feel silly and ridiculous, but I hope to get over that fear soon.
  4. When it comes to backdrops for your photos what do you consider? Do you scout locations or shoot the same spot daily? I don't go on scouting trips per se, but HB and I will be driving and point and say "Hey that'd make a great outfit post"...but normally due to time constraints we choose locations nearby, such as the parking garage, park, balcony, or hallways. How much effort we put into the location really depends on free time--the desire to make them beautiful is always there, it's the time that isn't!
  5. If you could splurge and get one new piece of equipment what would you be buying? Absolutely, without-a-doubt, 100% want the Canon 7d. The professional photographer in me is painfully aware of the Rebel XSi's limitations, though they're probably not as apparent to the average user. It's a great DSLR, especially if you're starting out, but I miss my 20D, which I sold a long time ago to pay for the XSi. The 7d is just an amazing camera, and even has HD video which would negate lugging along my camcorder altogether (bonus)! Of course, if I was really dreaming, it'd be the Canon 5d. But the 7d is a little less expensive with nearly as many features.
