It's funny, pears and apples are among my least favorite foods on this planet, yet I am obsessed with decorating with them (faux ones, of course! and the more sparkles the better, naturally) I have a basket full of the most incredibly realistic green apples (Granny Smith?) that I purchased individually from Pier 1. I also have an assortment of sparkly pears which I have arranged on a clear glass cakestand (both from Target) serving as my coffee table center piece!
It seemed only fair that my sparkly gold pears had their time in the limelight while I was dressed up in shades of beige and gold. Gold is such a happy color, and universally flattering! Try it on anytime your mood is less than stellar, or you're feeling iffy about what to wear when going out (drinks, dinner, night on the town!). I guarantee you it will up your cool factor at least 300% (fake statistics don't lie!). Wear gold (pair it with white for a lush look, like these Blank Denim jeans!) and marvel in the extra touch of glam it gives you. Fashion isn't just how you look. It's how it makes you feel!
I have a confession to make, and I'm just going to come right out and say it. I'm addicted to the raspberry cheesecake at -- gulp -- Olive Garden. Yep, no lie. I know it's not the fanciest or chicest of restaurants, but I don't care. I live for their raspberry cheesecake. Oh, and their classic lasagna. Yum! Here I am enjoying a slice (kindly brought home by [houston]).
At first I thought these jeans were going to be too tight, but they loosened up nicely with a bit of wear. Admittedly it can be very very intimidating to even consider wearing white (or in this case, off-white) pants of any style. But when paired with the right color scheme, they blend in with the whole outfit, rather than draw attention to your legs. And I generally like to practice the Benjamin Franklin art of "everything in moderation" when it comes to outfit pieces. So to offset the tight skinny jeans, I opted for a flowy, loose gold top I've had in my closet forever.
